Sunway University is one of Malaysia’s leading private universities, founded in 1987 by Tan Sri Dr Jeffrey Cheah in the integrated Sunway City township. Entry Requirements
Foundation & Diploma
- SPM / O-Level / equivalent with minimum subject passes
- Sunway Foundation in Arts or Science for degree progression
- IELTS 5.0+ for most foundation and diploma programmes
Undergraduate
- A-Level / STPM / foundation / recognised diploma with programme-specific grades
- Lancaster partnership programmes may have additional UK partner requirements
- Portfolio and audition for design, music, and performing arts programmes
Postgraduate
- Bachelor’s degree with CGPA 2.50+ (or 2.00 with experience) for most Master’s
- Relevant professional experience for MBA and executive programmes
- Research proposal for Master’s by research and PhD entry

Undergraduate
- IELTS 6.0 overall for most bachelor’s programmes
- Foundation: IELTS 5.0–5.5 depending on pathway
- MUET Band 3–4 accepted for selected programmes
Postgraduate
- IELTS 6.0–6.5 for Master’s and PhD programmes
- TOEFL iBT / PTE Academic equivalents accepted
- English placement test available for conditional admission

- Enrolment fee: approx. RM 700; refundable deposit: RM 700–RM 1,000
- International administrative fee: RM 1,500–RM 9,000 depending on programme
