What You Need

Entry Requirements

Academic Requirements

  • Undergraduate: Secondary school certificate equivalent to Hungarian matriculation
  • Postgraduate: Bachelor's degree in relevant field
  • One-tier Master's programmes (Medicine, Dentistry) have separate entry requirements
  • Portfolio or aptitude test for art, music, and architecture programmes

English Language

  • IELTS 5.5–6.5 or TOEFL equivalent for English-taught programmes
  • Hungarian-taught programmes require preparatory language year
  • Some programmes also offered in German or French
  • Language certificate not older than 2 years

Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship

  • Open to nationals of partner countries (including Bangladesh)
  • Covers full tuition, accommodation contribution, and monthly stipend
  • Apply via apply.stipendiumhungaricum.hu — deadline typically mid-January
  • Choose up to 2 programmes from eligible list for your country

Student Visa (Type D)

  • Letter of admission from Hungarian higher education institution
  • Proof of tuition payment or scholarship award letter
  • Valid passport, passport photos, and completed application
  • Health insurance and proof of accommodation in Hungary
  • Apply at Hungarian embassy or consulate before travel

Financial Requirements

  • Self-funded tuition: €2,000–€8,000 per year depending on programme
  • Living costs: €500–€800 per month in Budapest; less in regional cities
  • Bank statements required if not on full scholarship
  • Part-time work possible with valid residence permit
